Born in Ramat Gan, Israel, in 1972, Sharon Brunsher is a designer and artist. Trained in the Industrial Design programme at the Design and Architecture Workshop, she has spent more than two decades developing a practice at the intersection of design, sculpture and material research. After serving as Creative Director of the brand Sabon from 2001 to 2005, she founded her own studio, whose creations are now presented internationally.
Her work explores the relationships between the body, material and space, bringing together materials with contrasting properties such as wood, stone, paper, clay and photography. Through experimental processes that resemble laboratory investigations, Sharon Brunsher creates works that question the notions of presence and absence, permanence and transformation. Her creations reveal the intrinsic qualities of each material while offering a sensitive reflection on time, memory and perception, at the intersection of contemporary design and sculpture.
